One evening, we were looking at the newspaper when we found a strange story. This is the story:
“MYSTERIOUS MURDERS – At about three o’clock this morning, the people of them neighbourhood St. Roch woke up when they heard terrible screams. The screams came from the fourth story of the house in the Rue Morgue.
“The house belongs to Madame L’Espanaye and her daughter, Mademoiselle Camille L’Espanaye. Eight or ten neighbours entered the house, with two policemen. The cries stopped, but the people could hear two loud voices at the top of the house. These voices stopped when they reached the second story. Evening became very quiet.
