But Wolf Larsen punched Johnson, and the man fell to the deck. The young sailor was up the mast all night. Then very slowly, in the morning, he came down. Wolf Larsen put Johnson, the mate, and Leach in a small boat. “Good-bye,” said the captain, “you are very good sailors, I’m sure you can reach the land.”
